The Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) is intended for students who plan to transfer and complete a bachelor's degree in a similar major at a CSU campus. Students completing this transfer degree: will earn an Associate’s Degree from West Valley College; are guaranteed admission to a campus in the CSU system; will be prepared to start upper division coursework at the CSU and not need to complete more than 60 units after transfer.

Associate of Science Degree: Early Childhood Education

To be awarded an AS Degree in Early Childhood Education, a student must complete 42 units in Child Studies coursework including completion of one Certificate of Achievement  and one of the Specializations, plus the general education units required for college graduation.

Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT): Early Childhood Education

An ADT is a guaranteed pathway for transfer into the California State University (CSU) system. After earning an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science Transfer degree students will be guaranteed admission to a CSU campus with junior standing. While admission to your campus of choice is not guaranteed, students will be given priority consideration for admission to their local CSU campus and to any CSU campus that offers a program that has been designated as “similar” by CSU.

Certificate of Achievement: Early Childhood Education Gainful Employment Disclosure

Successful completion of 30 semester units in coursework listed below plus 18 units in general education. This satisfies State Department of Education Title 5 coursework requirements for the Child Development Teacher Permit.

Certificate of Achievement: Early Intervention Gainful Employment Disclosure

Successful completion of 33 semester units in coursework listed below plus 18 units in general education. This certificate is appropriate for students who wish to work as an assistant or a paraprofessional in early intervention, early childhood special education, and child development programs serving children with special needs.
