Lou De La Rosa

The happily married father of three daughters, Lou De La Rosa has taught
music in San Jose for 20 years, twelve of which were at Abraham Lincoln
High School, an Academic, Visual & Performing Arts Magnet, where
he was the Music and Performing Arts Department Chair. Over the past
several years, the school and department have received numerous awards
of excellence, including the National Blue Ribbon School with Special
Recognition in the Arts, California Distinguished School, and Grammy
Signature School Awards. Mr. De La Rosa taught three choirs and Advanced
Placement Music Theory, and as one of five music teachers on staff,
saw enrollment in music nearly triple during his tenure at Lincoln.
Outside of school, he has served eight years on the CMEA Bay Section
Board of Directors, organized honor choirs for California ACDA, and
is a vocal music adjudicator for CMEA. His choirs regularly received
first-place awards at music festivals and competitions.
