This course is an introduction to Earth’s atmosphere. The topics covered include atmospheric structure and composition, solar radiation and energy balances, temperature, seasonal changes, atmospheric moisture, clouds and fog, precipitation, air pressure, winds, air masses and fronts, thunderstorms and tornadoes, tropical cyclones, weather forecasting, California climate and weather, global climate and weather and climate change.
