To our West Valley College Students, Prospective Students, and Visitors,
I warmly welcome you to one of California's finest - West Valley College! I have the
privilege of serving as the president of this wonderful institution and am eager to share with you all that
makes West Valley College the special place that it is. But before I do that, I suspect you may be wondering
- what are those phrases above referencing? Ponder the common theme which reveals itself upon reflection of
the key words - vision, future, perspective, career, calling,
potential, gift. The common element is: EDUCATION! Just insert
each of the phrases above into: "Education provides me with . . ." and see what
pursuing higher education brings to you. You are opening up your future to a world of possibilities and West
Valley College's faculty and staff feel honored to partner with you in that educational journey.
So, why is West Valley College the right place for you? There are three important
reasons:
- Our People: Our faculty and staff care deeply about teaching and learning, about supporting you as you seek to realize your goals, about providing you the best education. You are our life's work and we are deeply committed to your education.
- Our Programs: What is your goal? Transfer to a four-year university? Career preparation? Enriching your life through education? Our academic, transfer preparation, and career/technical programs; our student support programs; our programs to help you strengthen your skills - all of these are of exceptionally high quality and will take you where you want to go.
- Our Place: As our students, you have a unique opportunity to engage in learning in a setting that celebrates the natural environment of California - the native oak woodland vegetation that dots the landscape across campus, our undulating terrain resulting from being situated where the coastal foothills transition to the valley flatlands, and our riparian ecosystems which bisect campus and bring the plant and animal life common to stream habitats. We have the ideal locale to engage in learning surrounded by a natural setting that fuels the mind.
