RLEST 90: Principles of Real Estate
This introductory course covers the basic understanding, background, and terminology of real estate. This course also summarizes information required for the State of California real estate license examinations. Any student seeking to obtain their California Real Estate Salesperson's or Broker's license must take this class. (Offered online and in person.) Acceptable for California State University credit.
RLEST 91: Real Estate Practice
This course introduces students to the fundamental operations of a real estate business and procedures used in a typical real estate transaction. This course also summarizes information required for the State of California real estate license examinations. Any student seeking to obtain their California Real Estate Salesperson's or Broker's license must take this class. (Offered online and in person.) Acceptable for California State University credit.
RLEST 92: Real Estate Economics
This course gives students an overview of the unique field of real estate economics, including an examination of how basic economic concepts apply to real estate. Topics include real estate value and pricing, the effect of government controls on the land market, socio-economic factors, financing, and tax issues. This course satisfies part of the educational requirements for obtaining a California Real Estate Salesperson's or Broker's license. Acceptable for California State University credit.
RLEST 93A: Legal Aspects of Real Estate I
This course introduces students to legal issues that arise in real estate transactions. Students will learn how to identify, interpret, and solve fundamental legal problems inherent in real estate transactions and in the real estate profession. This course satisfies part of the educational requirements for obtaining a California Real Estate Salesperson's or Broker's license. Acceptable for California State University credit.
RLEST 94A: Real Estate Appraisal I
This course provides a general introduction to the theory and practice of appraisal. In addition to covering basic real estate economics, class also addresses the application of various appraisal methods to real world situations, with an emphasis on appraising residential property. This course satisfies part of the educational requirements needed to obtain a California Real Estate Appraiser's license. This course also satisfies part of the educational requirements for obtaining a California Real Estate Salesperson's or Broker's license.
RLEST 94B: Real Estate Appraisal II
This is an advanced real estate appraisal course with an emphasis on appraising income-producing properties. This course also covers appraising industrial properties and partial interests. This course satisfies part of the educational requirements needed to obtain a California Real Estate Appraiser's license. Acceptable for California State University credit.
95A: Real Estate Finance I
This course provides an overview of real estate financing. Topics include financing for residential and commercial properties, development opportunities, and how macro economic conditions can affect financing. This course also satisfies part of the educational requirements for obtaining a California Real Estate Salesperson's or Broker's license. Acceptable for California State University credit.
RLEST 99: Property Management
This course focuses on successful techniques and practices in the management of income property. Topics covered include acquisition, analysis, legal considerations, marketing techniques, maintenance, records and insurance. This course also satisfies part of the educational requirements for obtaining a California Real Estate Salesperson's or Broker's license. (Online only.) Acceptable for California State University credit.
