Board of Governers Fee Waiver (BOGW)

The State of California provides to eligible community college students a fee waiver that covers tuition, and 50% of the parking fee.

To apply, complete the Board of Governors Fees Waiver (BOGW) Forms ›

Eligibility for the fee waiver is determined immediately after submission of the application. Alternatively, if the student has already completed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid FAFSAopens in a new window and listed West Valley College to receive their application information, the Financial Aid Office will automatically evaluate the student for fee waiver eligibility.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, student must be a California resident and meet one of the following three categories.

Type A   (documentation required) You or your family are receiving public assistance from the Aid to Families with Dependent Children or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (AFDC/TANF) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or have certification from the California Department of Veterans' Affairsopens in a new window. Supporting documentation must be provided.

OR
Type B Your household income falls below certain State-designated levels.

OR
Type C You have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid FAFSAopens in a new window and listed West Valley College to receive your application information, and have been determined by the Financial Aid Office as having financial need.
