NCCC 024: English Vocabulary for Court Reporting and Captioning

Course Description

Students have the opportunity to gain basic understanding, correct spelling, and pronunciation of English vocabulary in order to prepare for the written portion of the California Certified Shorthand Reporter licensing examinations. The course content facilitates students' hearing and comprehending of English vocabulary in order to accurately write the spoken word for reporting, captioning, transcription, and proofreading careers. Vocabulary building, pronunciation, and spelling are emphasized. Stenographic machine writing and voice writing options are discussed.
