Course Description
This course introduces students to some of the historical and current embellishment techniques used in fashion. Historical perspective of the development and use of various techniques is addressed, as well as an analysis of embellishment to enhance contemporary designs. Students have an opportunity to discuss, demonstrate, and practice techniques such as decorative stitching, applique, fabric manipulation, beading, passemanterie, lacework, and other couture techniques.
