GEOG 001: Intro Physical Geography

Course Description

This course is a spatial study of the Earth's dynamic physical systems and processes. Students have the opportunity to explore topics such as Earth-sun geometry, weather, climate, water, landforms, soil, and the biosphere. Emphasis is on the interrelationships among environmental and the diverse human systems and processes that result in various patterns and distributions. Students also have the opportunity to explore the various tools of geographic inquiry, including maps, remote sensing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning Systems (GPS).
