Course Description
This course explores the analysis and practice of basic stage movement for simulated combat. Students are invited to develop a personal command and understanding of their body in relation to theatrical physical conflict. Fundamental techniques of hand to hand combat, swordplay, and safety techniques are major components of the course. The course introduces the written notation for designing a fight. Styles of stage combat to be covered include Unarmed/Hand to Hand, Rapier and Dagger, Single Sword, Broadsword, and Quarterstaff.
