This video describes the application of the macroeconomic model: Aggregate Demand and Supply and the Philips Curve. The model is used to describe a very significant event in US economic history when the Federal Reserve created a recession in order to bring down the very high inflation of the 1970s. Very pertinent today as we deal with the high inflation of 2022.

Students are taught the steps involved when something happens in a market to shift either the demand or supply curve. They must first identify which curve is affected (search), which direction the curve shifts (shift), and the results on the market in terms of equilibrium price and quantity (settle). The purpose of this video is to help students remember the steps. Note: A transcript of the words on the video are provided alongside the video in the Canvas page for this course.
