Job Overview
As a Front-End Intern, you will be part of a team dedicated to building a state-of-the-art, giver-focused social platform. We welcome LAEP eligible community college students with basic coding skills and/or introductory computer information systems coursework who are eager to learn. This internship offers paid on-the-job training, where you will gain hands-on work experience and develop a strong foundation in various tools and technologies essential for Front End Development.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the development team to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for our platform using Flutter and Android Studio.
- Gain proficiency in device emulation for development to ensure seamless user experiences across different devices.
- Contribute to the version control process by utilizing GitHub for code management and collaboration with fellow team members.
- Participate in project management and issue tracking using Jira, ensuring efficient and organized workflow during development.
- Learn and implement best practices for web design, responsive layouts, and user experience (UX) optimization.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of coding principles, introductory coursework in computer information systems, and/or experience with Front End Development technologies is preferred.
- Eagerness to learn, independence, motivation, and a strong willingness to grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Good problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail to deliver high-quality Front End experiences.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
Training
During the internship, you will receive on-the-job training in Front End Development. This includes experience with Flutter, Android Studio, device emulation, GitHub, and Jira. You will be paired with a mentor to ensure your continuous growth and professional development.
Duration
The internship will be conducted over a three-month period between September 18, 2023 and December 15, 2023 with the possibility of extension based on performance, funding, and mutual agreement. Work hours can be flexible, but interns should expect to work 20hrs/week.
