Historical Emporium, Inc. (HEI) is a successful online store based in San Jose. We specialize in authentic, high quality historical clothing and theatrical items through our website. Our customers are individual history enthusiasts, as well as major performing arts, motion picture and television production companies, including Columbia Pictures, The History Channel, Disneyland, and the New York Opera.

What is the Role?
We looking to create and manufacture our own custom line of period clothing for men and women. Our ultimate plan is to develop a capsule collection of 4-6 designs each for men and women which represent the core fashions of a specific era. While authenticity and accuracy are important, manufacturability and wearability will also be important considerations in the development of these items.
The development intern will assist in a variety of tasks depending on skill level and interest. These can include but are not limited to:
- Assist in development of product specifications, including fabric and notions
- Assist in creation of Tech Sketch and Tech Pack for each garment.
- Contact potential vendors to gather information on fabric and trim costs
- Collaborate with product team and design intern to develop new product ideas
- Assist in evaluating samples and providing detailed feedback to manufacturing as needed.
