COSTUME CONTEST CATEGORIES

1. Best Dressed from the 1960s

Get groovy with bold colors, bell-bottom pants, tie-dye shirts, peace signs, and round sunglasses. Channel the flower-power era or go mod with a mini skirt and go-go boots.
Or... step back into the classic collegiate style of the early '60s! Picture yourself as a student in 1964—think neat cardigans, plaid skirts, loafers, and preppy button-down shirts. From lettered athlete sweaters, ties, or blazers with clean-cut hairstyles to a modest look with headbands, knee-length skirts, and flats, capture that timeless and polished look of campus life in the mid-60s!

2. Spookiest Costume

Show your haunting side with eerie ghost costumes, tattered cloaks,  and dark, shadowy figures. Think glowing eyes, spooky makeup, and a  terrifying atmosphere.  Bring chills to the party with a spine-tingling look!

3. Funniest Costume

Bring on the laughs with hilarious costumes, from oversized food items to quirky characters. Think of something silly, like a giant banana, or a pun-based costume to keep everyone laughing.

Examples of pun-based costumes could include:
  • “Ceiling Fan”: Wear a shirt that says, "Go Ceilings!" and carry pom-poms, pretending to cheer for the ceiling
  • "Holy Cow”: Wear a cow costume with angel wings and a halo.
  • "Formal Apology”: Wear formal clothes (suit or formal dress) and carry a sign that says "Sorry.")

4. Best Homemade Costume

Display your creativity with a DIY costume. Cardboard robots, hand-stitched animals, or repurposed household items can make a standout look. Impress everyone with your originality and crafting skills.

5. Most Creative Costume

Push the boundaries with out-of-the-box ideas. It could be a mash-up of different characters, a high-concept theme, or an artistic take on a popular trend. The sky’s the limit for innovation here!

6. Best Duo or Group Costume

Team up with your friends for a coordinated look. Think of iconic pairings or famous ensembles like superheroes, TV show characters, puns, or themes that tie all your costumes together in a fun and unified way. The key to this category is coordination and teamwork.
