Program Information

 

The legal community has always required skilled assistance, and it is willing to pay top dollar for the services provided by trained legal secretaries. West Valley College offers courses to train individuals interested in entering the legal secretarial field. The Court Reporting department, the Paralegal department, and the Computer Applications department have combined their expertise and courses to create this curriculum. If you have keyboarding skills and beginning knowledge of Microsoft Word, then you can complete this course of study in two semesters. This fast-track program can help you get started in your chosen profession.

 

A Certificate of Achievement in Legal Secretarial Studies can be earned by student who have completed all required courses with at least a grade of "C" or "Pass" and a minimum of 17.5 units of credits.

 

Students who need additional time to practice computer skills are encouraged to take advantage of the open lab time in Technology Center.

 

You may continue your studies in this field by pursuing certificates in Administrative management Assistant, Level 1 and Level 2, and an Associate of science Degree in Business Administration.
