A Certificate of Achievement in Legal Transcription Technology can be earned by students who have completed all required courses with at least a grade of "C" or "Credit".

To be awarded an Associate of Science Degree, a student must complete:

  1. All of the major requirements for a Certificate of Achievement, and
  2. Additional units to meet the college graduation requirements.

Before beginning any court reporting or related technology program, the student should have keyboarding skills of at least 45 words per minute; the Computer Applications Department offers keyboarding classes. By the end of the program a student shall pass at least two 5-minute keyboarding tests with at least 60 gross wpm with a maximum of 5 errors.

ORIENTATION: Each semester an orientation meeting provides information needed for all students entering in Court Reporting and Related Technologies. The date of the orientation is published in each semester's schedule of classes.
