Community Input Needed on West Valley College's New Solar Project
Instead of cars, rows of solar panels may soon fill a parking lot at West Valley College in Saratoga. The Clean Renewable Energy Bonds (CREB) section of the IRS has notified West Valley that it's eligible for low cost financing to install a solar electrical system. Initial estimates predict that this one megawatt solar panel array would cover 150,000 square feet of parking lot 2, (adjacent to Allendale Avenue), generate 31% of the College's electrical needs and save the College approximately $600,000/year.
