IGETT (Integrated Geospatial Education and Technology Training) ^

This project is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) Grant # 0703185. The purpose of this project is to address the needs of two-year college geospatial programs. This project will partner with 20 two-year colleges and 40 GIS Educators. West Valley College is a partner in this program.

CalGETT (California Geospatial Education and Technology Training)

This is a new grant recently awarded to West Valley College. The amount of the award is for $369, 382. Partners on this grant include; Shasta College, ESRI and NASA-SSAI.

This two year project will offer technical project-based training in the use of remote sensing for mapping critical natural resources. The training will be targeted toward community college instructors in California. Public and private sector natural resource management employees that already have GIS backgrounds will be included in this training. The addition of remote sensing skills will allow participants to meet the needs that are important to the future of California.
