Set up a time to come to DESP and bring your books for your courses with you to the appointment.
Fill out the request form for your books during your appointment.
If you qualify for services such as Bookshare or Learning Ally, these will be discussed with you.
Information and/or training about software available for student use, both at home and on campus, will also be discussed during the appointment.
You may request follow up appointments for further training or assistance at the front desk.
You will receive an email notifying you as soon as the book(s) are available to be picked up.
No appointment is necessary to pick up books.
An appointment should be set up at the front desk to meet with a assistive technology trainer to help you use the software available with your etext.
The standard turn around time for typical etext requests is two weeks.
If your materials have not come in from the publisher, you may scan them yourself or request that we scan them for you.
Should you request to have us scan the book, we will need to disassemble it, and keep the copy while scanning. Scanning will be done according the assigned reading schedule on the syllabus for the relevant course. After scanning, the book will be rebound and returned to the student. The student will also receive a CD that contains the scanned materials.
