Graduating & Transferring Students 2015!

Announcement: Registration to participate in graduation is closed.
The event is "sold out." Seating is only available for guests who have tickets. There is a very limited standing room only section. Guests without tickets may be turned away.
Weather Alert: 20% chance of showers, bring a small umbrella.
Please note there is currently construction on Hwy. 9/Big Basin Way, the main route to the winery. There may be a traffic signal delay at the site of the construction. Please start your travels a little earlier.
There is an alternate route available to the Mt. Winery. From West Valley College take Saratoga Ave. towards downtown Saratoga. Turn right on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Rd. Take a left on Pierce Road. Follow Pierce Rd. up the hill to the Mt. Winery. Busses, motor homes, and other large vehicles not advised. Please refer to an online map for further info.
The Mt. Winery is located at 14831 PIerce Road, Saratoga, CA 95070
All students please use buses if possible because parking may be limited at the winery. Be aware that you may be asked to park at West Valley. Also be aware that you may have to take the shuttle up and back to WVC.
Graduation/Transfer Ceremony & Celebration Thursday, May 21, 2015
- 2:30 - 2:45 pm - Bus Check-in @ Admission & Records (West Valley College) if needed
3:00 pm - Graduate & Transfer Check-in begins at Mountain Winery
- 4:00pm - Graduate & Transfer Line-up
5:00 pm - Ceremony at the Mountain Winery
Celebration Immediately Following Ceremony
The Mountain Winery has parking for students and guests. No parking permits are required. However due to the strong response from graduates and their guests it is advised students park at the college and take the shuttle busses from the college.
Students Only - have the option of taking a bus from West Valley College campus to the Mountain Winery. The busses will run on a strict schedule. Busses will depart the campus at 2:30pm and 3:30pm and return busses will be scheduled for 7:00pm and 8:10pm.
Cap & Gown
Caps and Gowns can be reserved through the Viking Bookstore in the Campus Center during the Grad/Transfer Fair on Wednesday, April 8. Cost for the cap & gown package is $46.95 plus tax. You will pay for your gown when you pick up your order in the bookstore.
- Attention All Transfer Students: If you are transferring only and not receiving a degree or certificate, you do not need wear a cap and gown, the desired attire is “dressy casual” (i.e., a black dress or black shirt and slacks).
Guest Seating and TicketsAll guest seating tickets have been issued and no additional tickets are available.
A professional photography company will photograph each student participating in the commencement ceremony. You will receive an email from the photographer approximately 72 hours following the ceremony and can purchase additional pictures directly from the company. Participants should arrive to check-in by 3:45pm wearing their cap and gown if they are graduating or business attire for those students who are transferring. You will be given your RSVP information card at one of the check-in stations. Please do not bring any valuables with you at this time. You will receive a printed program as you check-in.
Line-up is at 4:00pm. Once you have checked in and have your information card, please proceed to the line-up area located at the Student Staging Area, which will be clearly marked at the Mountain Winey.
Attention all Transfer Students
If you are transferring only and not receiving a degree or certificate, you will be seated in your own designated area.
After the Ceremony, you will be ushered to the Reception area. Guests will be able to meet you there. There will be a ceremonial cutting of the cake and hors d'oeuvres will be served. There will be many great locations to take photos during the reception.
