New Students

  1. Download the WVC Veterans Information Checklist to help you complete the above steps.

  2. Apply for Admissions at  California Community Colleges Online Application Center ^ (CCC Apply).

  3. Schedule Assessment Tests

  4. Register and complete an Orientation Session: Orientation Options ›
    On-line Orientation & Special Accommodations ›

  5. Complete and submit the following Veteran’s Educational Benefits Packet to Veronica Bernal, VA/Financial Aid Advisor. You may also request information about additional financial aid and scholarships.

  6. VA Benefits are determined and awarded through the Department of Veteran Affairs. Apply for benefits at Veterans Online Applications (VONAPP)

  7. Meet with a VA counselor for a 30 minute guidance appointment at (408) 741-2009 and then register for classes.

Continuing Students

Students Transferring from Other Colleges

  • Continuing students who have received VA Educational Benefits at a previous college must complete the Change of School Form 22-1995 through the Veterans Online Application ^ and submit with your official transcripts to Veronica Bernal.

West Valley College VA Office takes 2-3 weeks to process VA Certification. After West Valley submits the certification, the VA Office takes approximately 3-6 weeks to process claims.
