Link + is a service which allows WVC students, faculty and staff to electronically request and borrow books, not available in the West Valley or Mission College libraries, from other academic and public libraries.
^ topCurrently enrolled students, faculty and staff may request books through Link+ as long as their library records are in good standing.
^ topSearch for desired book in the WVC Library Catalog. If it is not found, click the “Search Link+” button at the top of the screen. After finding a needed book, follow the instructions on the screen to request an item. You will need to enter your name and college ID number.
^ topIt usually takes between 2 and 4 days for books to arrive at WVC.
^ topBorrowers are allowed a total of 15 LINK+ transactions (requests and checkouts) at any one time.
^ topYou can monitor your Link+ requests, by using the “Check Your Library Record” feature of the WVC Library Catalog. When a book’s hold status is listed as “LINK+ RECVD,” it is ready for pickup at the Book Checkout Desk. The book must be picked up within 10 days or it will be returned to the lending library.
^ topLINK+ books check out for 21 days. You can have one 14 day renewal if no one is waiting for the item. You can renew items online using the “Check Your Library Record” feature in the WVC catalog.
^ topLate fee is $1.00/day per item. Replacement charge for lost or damaged books is $115.00.
^ topMost of the other LINK+ libraries allow WVC patrons to borrow directly from their libraries. You will need to have your WVC ID card with you.
