Choral Program Student Testimonials
When I came to West Valley I had no clue what I wanted to do with my life. I was trying a little bit of everything to see where I fit. Jeff got me excited about the Commercial Music Program and showed me that I could really go somewhere with music production. He always challenged me to go a little farther and realize my potential. I'm on track to graduate and dive straight into my career because of the real world experience I gained at West Valley.
I am excited to say that I will be attending San Francisco Conservatory of Music for my Master's! Thanks again for your knowledge and support over the years; I greatly appreciate it!
Entering into the music department at West Valley College was one of the smartest educational decisions I have ever made. I was not ready at the time to enter into a major university, so I decided to stay close to home and learn theory and composition at West Valley. Despite being a community college, the faculty and program there function at extremely high levels, so much so that when I finally transferred, I tested out of all four levels of written theory classes. The faculty is all extremely supportive and provides you with many opportunities to succeed, no matter where your focus lies. Anyone feeling like they are not ready for a large university, but still want a strong musical education, should definitely consider West Valley.
I just wanted to give you a rundown on what i have been doing i started a website and have been doing a lot of projects i just recently did all the Cal Baptist University commercials that were played on Fox Sports. I am now starting to reach out to film makers for more gigs. Check out my website whenever you get a chance and it would mean a lot to me. I always will appreciate your help and definitely so thankful for the advice and knowledge you have taught me. Thank you.
Thought I should let you two know that I won the Andy Summers guitar competition at Cal State Northridge yesterday. It was a five thousand dollar prize with this competition. So this is another thank-you for all the help that West Valley has given me.
If you were to tell me a year ago that my music would be on multiple TV episodes and I would be signed to 2 labels, I would not believe you. I mostly owe it all to one class (Creating Music for Film, TV and Gaming), Professor Sinclair’s 67A an 67B classes. In these classes, we learned the basics of creating music for film as well as the business side of the industry. Professor Sinclair wants his students to succeed and is there to guide you through the steps. If you’re looking to grow and take your music to the next level this is the class to take.
